Are you an Occupational Therapist who would like to explore a rewarding career experience?

About Us

Cygnet Group was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.

Your Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6)

Service Line: Male psychiatric intensive care unit and male acute mental health

Due to open in February 2024, Sherwood Hospital will be a unit consisting of three wards.

One will specialise in male PICU while there will also be a male acute mental health ward and a female mental health acute ward. This service will provide comprehensive support to service users at a newly refurbished site.

This new forward-thinking hospital will have an inbuilt drive for innovation and embrace new ways of working; we are looking for staff who share our passion for new ideas and are willing to drive for sustained high quality care delivery as part of a supportive team.

The service supports patients to return to functional lives, reduce self-harm and emotional distress. The site will encompass a full multidisciplinary team and the successful post holder will support the Head of Occupational Therapy on site to implement the models of care within the Occupational Therapy department.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:

We understand the pandemic has brought with it challenging times, and we recognise this may have had an impact on some of your placement experiences. We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
