We are looking for a confident Clinical Risk Manager who can be the driving force behind maintaining our exceptional quality of care.

You'll be working 40 hours per week at Cygnet Hospital Bury, Cygnet Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services.

Note: This position is available on a 12 month Fixed Term contract (FTC) we are also open to discussing either a 30/40 hour contract.

Reporting to the Clinical Quality & Compliance Manager, the Clinical Risk Manager will be responsible for line management of Safety Audit Assistant and Clinical Audit Assistant.  They will be a ‘role model’ for nurses and support workers and have high expectations of others, recognising and acknowledging their strengths. The post holder will be expected to challenge poor practice/performance issues in a timely and constructive manner, giving honest and proportionate feedback and escalate.

The role holder will be expected to develop and manage links with all services in order to effectively deliver aspects of the requirement of the role.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your Day to Day;

  • Assist the Clinical Quality and Compliance Directorate through clinical practice development and quality improvement. 
  • Work in partnership with the Clinical Service Managers to deliver targeted intervention where themes, trends and lessons learnt indicate a need for Quality Improvement.
  • Have an oversight of audit process and supervise the clinical audit assistant undertaking regular audits of care through monitoring and analysis of documentation, assessment and soft information including observation of the lived experience of patients
  • Ensure that quality improvement is embedded in practice through focused training and audit against required standards.
  • Oversee compliance with Serious Incident reporting and provide theme & trend reports for hospital and external meetings

You are... 

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in fundamentals of quality improvement, patient safety & risk management.
  • Proven ability to function independently and communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
  • Must have strong organisational and analytical skills particularly within Excel.
  • Ideally having previous experience working with NHS Commissioners.
