We’re looking for a Clinical Service Manager – RMN / RNLD to join our fantastic team.

You will have a passion for delivering high quality care and the drive to help shape Secure Services at Cygnet Bury Dunes.

You will be working full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Please note this role does carry the responsibility of on-call duties as and when required in support of the Service/Hospital Manager.

Cygnet Hospital Bury:

Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents.

Cygnet Bury Dunes:

  • Womens low sercure ward
  • Womens Medium secure ward
  • PICU ward for Men
  • Acute Service for Men
  • Deafness and Mental Health services

Your day-to-day…

  • Provide the highest standard of nursing care & lead by example to ensure consistent high standards of clinical care, documentation and risk management
  • Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the service & ensure co-operation between clinical and security departments.
  • Oversight and Support in Management of appropriate staff skill Mix across the services.
  • Support in Management of Referrals, Admissions and Discharges
  • Management of Budget
  • Provide leadership, direction and supervision to all clinical and support staff
  • Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings & development of evidence/ research-based practice
  • Participate in the manager’s on-call system to provide the first point of contact for ward-based staff, outside of normal working hours.
  • Deputise in the Managers absence and attend meetings with external bodies as required.

You are…

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/Registered Learning Disability Nurse with a valid pin (RMN / RNLD)
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a forensic mental health service in a clinical and leadership role, including a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of working in a forensic mental health setting (for example; medium secure). They should have a proven track record of successfully managing complex cases and navigating challenges within this environment. The candidate should understand the regulatory compliance requirements and have up to date knowledge on statutory requirements for this service type.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations Medium and Low Secure Services where efficiency and effective decision-making is essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and make informed decisions in a timely manner. The candidate should be able to identify actual or potential risks and identify actions to minimise these.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills. The successful candidate should have excellent clinical leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and effective treatment plans within the Medium and Low Secure Services . They should have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. They should be able to provide guidance, support, and supervision to their team, while also promoting an open culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and evidence-based practice. The successful candidate should have experience of working with adults who have complex trauma/personality disorder. The candidate should also have experience of managing performance of individuals and teams.
  • Passion for working in a Forensic services. The successful candidate should demonstrate genuine passion, enthusiasm and commitment to working with individuals who have offending histories and considered as a risk to the public. They should demonstrate an understanding and empathy for the challenges faced by this client group, and be eager to contribute to their recovery and overall well-being.
