We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our team at Cygnet Thistle Care Home. 

Situated in a residential area of Dundee, Thistle Care Home is a specialist residential service supporting up to ten individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. The team of nurses and support workers also support those with behaviours that may challenge, as well as those who have associated mental health needs.

Thistle Care Home is a purpose-built building with its own gardens. The service delivers 24 hour care and support. There are a number of living areas for individuals to choose from, whether they want time to socialise as a group, or to spend time alone. Everyone has their own en-suite bedroom, which they are encouraged to decorate and personalise to suit their own personal style.

In this role you’ll:

  • Build professional relationships with the residents and staff at your establishment and throughout the company
  • You will be able to communicate effectively with outside agencies to promote the service
  •  Be responsible for working as part of a team and growing the staffing requirements to meet the needs of residents
  •  Conduct and effectively manage the staff team.
  •  Be required to have a share in on call duties
  •  Be responsible for ensuring compliance is set out in line with Care Inspectorate guidelines

We're looking for people who have:

  •  A proven track record of managing Learning disabilities, Autism or challenging behaviours
  • Outstanding staff management and organisation skills
  • Familiarity with and the ability to apply Care Inspectorate, the Mental Health Act (Care and Treatment) Scotland and other professional regulations
  • Good presentation and report writing skills
  • Nurse qualified with an active NMC Pin
