We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Occupational Therapist at Cygnet Aspen Clinic.

Cygnet Aspen Clinic is a specialist service for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder and associated complex needs. We provide assessment, stabilisation, treatment and rehabilitation for up to 16 women.

Our service users may have complex trauma histories or have experienced regular placement breakdowns. At Cygnet Aspen Clinic we provide a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care and treatment with a focus on recovery and co-production with service users.

This role will involve autonomously providing highly specialist assessment, analysis and treatment of occupational dysfunction, enabling people to do the things they want, need or are expected to do to support them being well in life.  To support the learning of others through supervising, mentoring and coaching, and to be professionally accountable for a broad aspect of service delivery.

The successful candidate will receive supervision from a Regional Lead Occupational Therapist as well as support from a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. Along with access to a wide network of Occupational Therapists.

Post: (Band 6/7) Occupational Therapist

Salary:  £36,807-£45,492 (depending on experience)

Contract: Fixed term maternity cover post (9-12 months), December 2024 start date.

Base: Cygnet Aspen Clinic, Manvers Road, Mexborough, Doncaster, S64 9EX. 

Responsible for: Delivery of Occupational Therapy pathway at Cygnet Aspen Clinic

Responsible to: Service Manager and Regional Lead Occupational Therapist

Hours: 37.5 hours

As an Occupational Therapist, you will

  • Hold a caseload and utilise effective clinical decision-making and clinical skills to assess, implement and evaluate care
  • Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity and leisure
  • Implement specialist group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in accordance with the company and professional standards.
  • Be a source of professional advice relating to Occupational Therapy, to provide advice to individuals in our care, to carers and colleagues as appropriate.
  • To deliver an occupational focussed service, providing evidence based practice with recognised measurable outcomes to evaluate the value and impact of occupational therapy.
  • Formulate and lead on the achievement of setting specific objectives such as in service development plans
  • Support/ lead the supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapists, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, reporting relevant issues to Service Manager and Senior OT, including sickness monitoring and time management.

The Successful Candidate should be/have:

  • Experience of working in a mental health setting
  • Awareness and understanding of working with service users with a diagnosis of personality disorder
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Effective communication skills, good organisations skills and a positive attitude
  • An Occupational Therapy degree and registration with HCPC

Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
