As Resident Medical Officer, you’ll play a crucial role providing on call and day shift cover for Cygnet Harrow.
Cygnet Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
This role will be based on our 18 bed Male Acute ward. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.
You'll be covering a mix of out of hours on call between 5pm - 9am / weekends (2:7 on-calls / eg. 10 weekdays on-calls and 4 weekend days on-calls) and day shifts (9am-5pm) on the acute ward, with access to Consultant advice.
The MDT staff are actively encouraged and supported to complete Quality Improvement Projects, as part of our supportive culture to continue to improve on the quality of care we provide.

We are looking for someone who is...
- Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement, the ability to manage risk & know when to ask for help
- Experienced in Psychiatry
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
