Are you an Occupational Therapist who would like to explore a rewarding career experience?

About Us

Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.

Your Role

Service Line: Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

Summary of the site

Cygnet Bury is a large site with 15 wards across three separate hospitals. We have a Regional Lead of Occupational Therapy and three Head Occupational Therapists on site to support the different services at Bury.

Clinical: You would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for up to 12 service users. We have one clinical role currently available on our CAMHS services in our Forestwood Hospital.

In this role you will be based with a supportive team of OTs and OTAs experienced in the specialism of CAMHS. Our team is passionate and dedicated to the care and treatment of their service users but also to the development of student OTs and preceptorship OTs.

Our CAMHS unit in Forestwood Hospital has services for young people needing Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), Acute Care or care in a low secure setting. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each young person to develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

Each ward has their own Occupational Therapist with additional support from an OT Assistant covering 2 wards.

All our services are therapy and recovery focused, providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The aim is to effectively progress service users though the service care pathway, into the least restrictive environment possible while working to reduce the possibility of readmission back into care.

Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:

We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills. This preceptorship programme has received much praise from Band 5 OTs who have felt it has significantly supported their transition from student to confident practitioner.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our Occupational Therapy Directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups and become involved in service development.

Every service line has a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in the company to lead and develop evidence-based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

5 reasons why you should make an application today…

  2. Expert clinical supervision and protected time for a weekly 1:1 with your clinical supervisor and a dedicated preceptorship programme
